Saturday saw a big turnout from Hinckley Cricket Club - but without their bats! On this occasion they were armed with brooms, brushes mops and buckets ready to start ground preparations for the new season.
The ages ranged from 3 to 72 years and everyone was put to task cleaning signs, varnishing benches, power washing patios, digging out weeds, sweeping, cleaning and polishing. After 5 hours of hard work the 30 strong crowd were all looking a bit worse for wear, but were well looked after with wives and partners on hand to offer tea, sympathy and bacon sandwiches!
Coach AIan Rapley said ‘Hinckley are a busy side and we want to make sure that visitors and spectators have an enjoyable time here, hence our efforts to ensure the club looks and remains in tip top condition.’

Hi just want to let everyone know about a fundraiser that I have organised to fund my placement at a peruvian orphanage this May.
The event is called Esperanza, and will feature Salsa Sabrosa (Latin American inspired jazz band), Grupo Senzala de Capoeira (afro-brazilian martial art dance performance) and Sambando (brazilian street music group).
The event will be at The Musician on Clyde Street, Leicester and costs £7 in advance or £8 on the door. You can visit the websit for more information on obtaining tickets at www.themusicianpub.co.uk
All proceeds will go towards funding my placement .
Come along and bring your friends. Have a great night and support a worthy cause!
